Flashing and Debugging

Support for AM13E230x has been merged in upstream OpenOCD but not yet picked up by Zephyr’s sdk-ng. Until the Zephyr SDK is updated to use a commit of OpenOCD that includes support for this SoC, the user has to clone and build upstream OpenOCD separately and point west flash to that directory.

Building OpenOCD

  1. Clone https://github.com/openocd-org/openocd

  2. Initialize submodules: git submodule update --init

  3. ./bootstrap && ./configure --enable-internal-jimtcl --enable-xds110

  4. Build: make -j$(nproc)

Flashing and debugging using West

west flash can be used with the patched OpenOCD to flash a Zephyr application by providing the paths to the OpenOCD binary and TCL directory.:

``west flash --openocd ~/openocd/src/openocd --openocd-search ~/openocd/tcl``

west debug can also be used with the same arguments for debugging using GDB.
