Programming and Debugging

The xg29_rb4413a board supports the runners and associated west commands listed below.

flash debug rtt debugserver attach reset
jlink ✅ (default) ✅ (default)
openocd
silabs_commander

Applications for the xg29_rb4413a board target can be built, flashed, and debugged in the usual way. See Building an Application and Run an Application for more details on building and running.

Flashing

As an example, this section shows how to build and flash the Hello World application.

First, plug the xG29-RB4413A into a compatible mainboard and connect the mainboard to your computer using USB. Then build and flash the sample:

# From the root of the zephyr repository
west build -b xg29_rb4413a samples/hello_world
west flash

west flash uses SEGGER J-Link by default. Make sure that the J-Link executable is available on PATH. Alternatively, use west flash -r silabs_commander with Simplicity Commander.

Open a serial terminal with the following settings:

  • Speed: 115200

  • Data: 8 bits

  • Parity: None

  • Stop bits: 1

Reset the board and you should see the following message:

Hello World! xg29_rb4413a

Bluetooth

To use Bluetooth, fetch the binary blobs from the Silicon Labs HAL repository:

west blobs fetch hal_silabs

Then build a Bluetooth sample, such as Observer:

# From the root of the zephyr repository
west build -b xg29_rb4413a samples/bluetooth/observer
